CERTIFIED TRAINING IN EGO STATE THERAPY

CBTHypnoPsy, in collaboration with Ego State Therapy International (ESTI), offers a certified training program in Ego State Therapy.

The program consists of seven three-day workshops. Participants are not required to complete the full 20-day training or have prior training in hypnosis in order to attend individual workshops. However, completion of the full program (20 days), along with certified training in hypnosis, is required to receive full certification as an Ego State Therapist by ESTI.

What Is Ego State Therapy?

Ego State Therapy was developed by Dr. John and Helen Watkins in the United States. Based on the work of Paul Federn, a close collaborator of Freud, the Watkins conceptualized the ego as composed of multiple “ego states”—discrete parts of the personality that emerge in response to life experiences, both positive and negative.

Unlike other parts-based therapies, Ego State Therapy emphasizes not only dissociated parts but also resourceful ego states that support psychological integration and resilience. Therapists trained in this method learn to activate, strengthen, and integrate these inner parts to support healing, regulation, and growth.

Ego State Therapy combines hypnosis, somatic awareness, and parts-based communication techniques, making it particularly effective in treating trauma, dissociation, and psychosomatic conditions.
